Mountain Man Rafting was established in 1985 in Creede, CO and we are still the only guided rafting company authorized to float the beautiful and fun sections near Wagon Wheel Gap and Creede. Now part of Narrow Ridge, we continue to provide exceptional river trips. Let our highly trained professional guides share with you the wonders and excitement of rafting on the Upper Rio Grande river!




Half Day Guided Rafting
Location - We guide a few different sections of the Upper Rio Grande throughout the season. Most frequently we float the scenic and fun Wagon Wheel Gap section or run through the pool drop rapids near Creede. All trips meet & end at our headquarters in South Fork.
Duration - Morning trips leave at 8:00 am & return by about 11:30am. Afternoon trips leave at 1:00 pm & return by 4:30pm. We usually float between 8.5 to 10 miles and are on the water for approximately 2 hours.

Weekend Half Day Rafting
Enjoy one of the most awe inspiring sections of river in Colorado! You'll launch near the historical Wagon Wheel Gap, float through the historic 4UR Ranch then we'll make a short stop to enjoy ice cream at Cottonwood Cove. Then splash through the Class II+ Rock Garden rapid, Three Rocks, Eye of the Needle, and other rapids before taking out at Palisade Campground.
Duration - Trip departs at 9 am from South Fork & returns about 1pm.

Full Day Guided Rafting
Location - Spend the day taking in the fabulous views and running Class II rapids. We typically launch at Deep Creek near Creede, stop at the Wagon Wheel Gap for lunch and then continue down to the Coller State Wildlife Areas. However, we are happy to customize based on your family or group's interests. All trips meet & end at our headquarters in South Fork.
Duration - Full Day trips depart between 8am and 9am. We are usually back between 4:30pm and 5pm. We like to float around 10 to 14 miles and spend about 5 hours on the water for our Full Day trips.
Cost - One or two rafts per trip​

Lunch - Gourmet specialty sandwiches. Each lunch includes a sandwich, chips, and a drink.
